Water Treatment Works
SPEC offers complete rehabilitation of Water treatment works together with new installations
Services include:
1. Construction of new plants:
- Building a new 1.8 Mega liter package plant from scratch where the “package plant’ section of the plant was outsourced to a specialist sub-contractor. The work consisted of earth leveling, excavations, trenching, piping, manholes, valve chambers, fencing, control room building, generator building, concrete slab for the filters, new sludge pond etc.
- Upgrade of a 3 to 6 Mega liter a day plant with a package plant extension. The new extensions included the following:
o Ponds (cleaning & refurbishment)
o Trenching and pipes
o Buildings refurbished, build new lean-to & warehouse structure.
o New pump station building together with a reinforced floor for the sand filters and piping.
o Pumps refurbished/replaced & installation of new pumps
o Manufacture & install stainless- flocculation & ISS tanks, with all stainless piping and electric control valves.
o Installation of 9 stainless sand filters with all valves and pipes.
o All civil works and piping towards the package plant
o Fencing repair/replace & new fencing
o Build, supply & install container housing with electrical & plumbing connections
o All electrical DB’s, cabling, sensors, automation, PLC’s etc.
- Upgrade of a conventional 5 Mega liter plant at Stutterheim where we built a new intake system, aeration channels, pump station etc.
2. Rehabilitation of plants:
- Corrosion Protection: external pipeline wrapping, coating of all kinds of pipes (in & outside), valves, sluices, pumps and steel structures (clarifier bridge, crane installations, structural steel etc)
- Mechanical: clarifier-, pump-, sand filter- etc refurbishment, piping, valves, sluices, pumps, actuator repairs and removal/installation.
- Civil – concrete rehab to clarifiers’ walls & floors, cleaning & repairs to ponds’ floors and walls, roof repairs, sealing etc
- Electrical – clarifiers, control room, HV & MV switchgear, lights etc.
